Happy 2012!  The 2012 VBC season is just around the corner.  Following a team meeting two weeks ago, the Braves are excited to get back on the diamond.  The first practice will be this Saturday, February 4, at Henrico HS.  The Braves are expecting 10-11 returning players and have already added 5 to the 2012 roster.

Braves...it's been a while since the last post.  We have reached the turning point in the 2011 season, where night games are being played during the week.  It sure does beat the heat, but it presents new challenges with attendance, keeping arms healthy and position depth.  Please be sure to keep your coaches informed of your attendance.

We play this Wednesday at Henrico HS, first pitch at 7 PM.

All Braves uniforms are in!  There will be another pick-up opportunity at Home Team Grill in the Fan (1630 W. Main Street) tomorrow from 5:30PM-6:30PM. 

As I said in an earlier email I will need an extra $10 from each player to cover the remaining league fees that are due this week. 

If possible, please let me know if you plan to come by tomorrow.  Hope to see you all there!

There are no games scheduled for this Sunday, 4/24 due to Easter.  Enjoy your weekend!

Games 5 & 6 have been cancelled due to all the rain we got yesterday.  They will be rescheduled.  Last night, I sent out an email regarding uniform pick-up today a 1pm, but that has been cancelled as well due to me being called into work this morning. 

No games today.  No uniform pick-up today.

The Braves will play the Orioles tomorrow, April 10th,  at Henrico High School.  First game starts at 1pm.  We'll be playing in the same uniforms as last week.  The new uniforms will definitely be here for next week's games. 

Please be at Henrico by 12:15 tomorrow!  Go Braves!

Looks like the weather is going to be great for Sunday, as the first day of play in the VBC. 

We will be playing the Red Sox twice on Sunday, with the first 7 inning game starting at 1 PM.  All players should plan to be at the field by 12:00 and no later than 12:15, to be included in the starting line-up.  We will be playing in last year's navy blue jersey.  We have several extras, but please bring a navy shirt if you are new.  For the veteran players, if you have any older Braves jersey, please bring it to the games on Sunday. 

Our pre-game briefing will start at 12:30 with a short infield to follow, don't miss it! 

For anyone interested, the field will be open around 11:30, if you need more time to warm-up. 

Please be sure you have completed three things by Friday:
1- Filled out a roster form (www.vbcbaseball.com)
2- Turned in a copy of your driver's license (only if you are new to the VBC)
3- Turned in your league and uniform fee

The first games are April 3rd.  We play the Red Sox at Henrico HS.  The first 7 inning game starts at 1pm.  All players are required to be at the field by 12:15. 

We will practice this Sunday at Henrico HS, rain or shine, from 2pm - 4pm.  Everyone, regardless of whether you played last year, needs to fill out a 2011 roster form.  The roster form is on the league website, www.vbcbaseball.com.  Please be sure to pick the Braves as your team!  The roster form has to be completed before the first game.

The season is right around the corner.  Be sure to workout some during the week! 

We've had two great practices so far.  Next Sunday, Feb. 27th, practice will start at 6pm due to a high school camp at the field that day.  We won't go any later than 7:30pm. 

Please remember to bring the first half of your league fees ($110). 

Uniform fees are still being decided, but please remember to budget for an additional $150 to cover the cost (hopefully it will be less than this). 

Also, if you haven't done so already, please fill out the roster form at www.vbcbaseball.com and select the Braves as your team of choice.

The VBC Braves season is quickly approaching!  The kick-off meeting is TODAY at 2pm at Henrico High School.  Bring ideas for the season and be prepared to talk about fees and practice schedule.

First scheduled practice will be Sunday, 2/13 at 2pm at Henrico High School.
