The VBC Braves season is quickly approaching! The kick-off meeting is TODAY at 2pm at Henrico High School. Bring ideas for the season and be prepared to talk about fees and practice schedule. The 2011 roster form that everyone needs to fill out has been posted at www.vbcbaseball.com. Please submit this ASAP. First scheduled practice will be Sunday, 2/13 at 2pm at Henrico High School. The end-of-the-season bowling party is scheduled for this coming Saturday, August 28th from 2-4pm at Shrader Lanes in Henrico. (8037 Shrader Road). The cost for each bowler is $15.25 (includes tax). MUST BE PAID IN CASH! Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to pick up shoes and take care of team business. Bowling starts promptly at 2! Great game this afternoon against the Orioles! The photos will be uploaded shortly. For tomorrow: -Bring both jerseys. -First game starts at 2PM at Manchester. -BP at 12:30, if we can get on the field. -In the event of a first game loss, we will be playing a second game at 4PM. So, let's win the first game! Last night was a good game. Everyone pulled together to help Lee Morton pick up his first win of the season. At the request of some of the guys, please bring both jerseys to the games on Sunday. We plan to start in blue. We may switch to red for the second game. We play at Manchester HS. Directions are indicated under the "Field Locations" tab. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday! Good game last night! Some of the guys would like to wear Blue Jerseys tonight! Uniform: Blue Jerseys Gray Pants We had a tough outing against the Pirates last Thursday, loosing 10-2. We played hard but only had eight players. Lets all be sure to thank the Pirates for giving us an outfielder! Its time to step it up! We are in the final two weeks of the regular season and we have 7 games to finish strong. We should be proud of the team for coming together this year, with just about all new faces, we have had to learn to play together. This takes time and we finally have a team concept. We have had some motivating wins and some tough losses but we have started a good team and we will continue to get better every game. I am looking forward to the games tomorrow. Be sure to check out the updated schedule. There have been several changes to July. We play 8 games in July, not including the replay of the bottom of the 7th inning of game 13 vs. the Senators.
